Finger Puppets
I bought these finger puppets from IKEA. I love the bright colors, and so does baby K. They were only $4.00 a set and they are made to fit both little and big hands. K loves to play stories with them, and because they are soft and quiet, they make great entertainers for church! Each package comes with 10 puppets, so you can take all of them or, like I do, rotate them out to 3 or 4 at a time - keeping the bag new and fresh is a key component to a successful church bag.

The Friend
My church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, publishes a monthly magazine for children. It is filled with stories about being Christlike, biblical accounts, games, service, and activities. I love it, and it is great to keep kids entertained. I recommend looking at it for any Christian family. Another great thing: it's only $8.00 per year! You can also read them online at www.lds.org
These are great to tuck into your church bag and they change every month, so you automatically get a reminder to rotate your bag!

The Bag
Any cloth bag will do, but preferably choose a bag that is lightweight, doesn't have lots of noisy fasteners (velcro can get loud), and is easily cleaned. I personally LOVE these bags from the BYU bookstore. They come in lots of styles and have a bunch of pockets to carry different things; from treats to a water bottle, to scriptures, crayons, magazines, etc. Bonus: they are always on sale for $5.00 or less! I have a pink one with stripes for my daughter and a navy blue one with basketballs for my nephew!
